Meet the Founder
Mariah Simmons founded in College Coders Academy in 2019 after receiving her bachelor's degree in Computer Science. In 2020, she was able to successfully receive her master's degree in Computer Science, allowing her to earn two degrees within a four year timespan.
During her college career, Mariah had the opportunity to interview with companies such as John Deere, NBA, Microsoft, and Lockheed Martin. Completing interviews with these companies allowed her to understand how hard it is to land a job in the technology industry.
Mariah has been able to work in a partnership with Microsoft and Apple to create apps. In these partnership, she gained application development experience that allowed her to understand the skills that are necessary to be a successful developer.
Mariah also has experience in research. Within two years, she was able to conduct research in human computer interactions. These research studies were conducted solo and within a team of researchers. Both research studies have led to publications in the HCI International Conference in 2020 and 2021.
Currently, Mariah works as a cybersecurity professional and a professor. Working full time allowed her to uncover her true talents and help others discover their own talents. By creating College Coders Academy, Mariah hopes to help aspiring technology professionals develop their skills and find their talents within the industry to inspire them to become the best version of themselves.
